Who we are
Lumoria Studios is a youth-led photobooth and event photography business based in Addu City, Maldives. We're responsible for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at lumoriastudios@gmail.com or on WhatsApp at +960 963 4782.
What we collect and why
When you send a booking inquiry
Our inquiry form asks for:
- Your name and event date (required), so we know who you are and can check if we're free.
- A phone number or an email address (one is required, not both), so we can reply.
- Event type, package, location and a message (all optional), so we can give you an accurate price, including transport for off-island events.
We use this only to reply to you and, if you go ahead, to arrange and deliver your booking. We rely on the fact that you've asked us to respond and to take steps towards a booking.
When you message us directly
If you contact us on WhatsApp, Instagram or by email, we receive whatever you send, along with your number, username or address. Those apps also handle your data under their own privacy policies.
When you book
For confirmed bookings we keep your contact details, event details and a record of payments (such as your deposit), because we need them to deliver the event and for our business and tax records.
When you visit this website
Our host, Netlify, handles basic technical data like your IP address, browser and the pages you open. That's how the site gets delivered and protected from abuse. We don't use it to identify you. We don't run analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and this site sets no cookies. See our Cookie Policy.
What we don't do
- We don't use analytics, tracking pixels or advertising cookies.
- We don't sell, rent or trade your personal data.
- We don't add you to marketing lists or send promotional messages unless you've asked us to.
- We don't ask for anything we don't need to answer your inquiry.
Photos taken at your event
Taking photos is what our booth does, so photos of you and your guests are personal data too.
- Prints are handed to guests on the night.
- The digital gallery is shared by private link with the event host, who can pass it on to guests. It stays up for 1 month after your event.
- Showing our work: we'd sometimes like to feature booth photos on this website or our Instagram. We only do that with the event host's permission, and we'll take down any photo of you if you ask. Just message us.
Who processes your data
We use a few outside services to run the business. They only handle your data to provide their service:

Some of these companies store data outside the Maldives, including in the United States. We may also share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Inquiries that don't become a booking: deleted within 12 months.
- Booking and payment records: kept for as long as we need them for our business, accounting and tax obligations, then deleted.
- Digital galleries: taken down 1 month after your event.
- Photos featured with permission: kept until you or the event host ask us to remove them.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct anything that's wrong;
- delete your data, unless we have to keep it for legal or accounting reasons;
- stop using a photo of you, or stop using your data for a particular purpose.
Message us on WhatsApp or email lumoriastudios@gmail.com and we'll respond within 30 days. If you live in the EU or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Keeping it safe
This site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and we limit access to inquiries and booking records to the team members who need them. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care to protect what you share with us.
Children
Bookings are made by adults, and this website isn't aimed at children. Children may appear in photos at family events. We never feature a photo of a child publicly without permission from a parent or the event host.
Changes to this policy
If the way we handle data changes, for example if we add analytics, we'll update this page and the date at the top first.
